Inspection of the property to ensure compliance with the Trade Practices (Consumer Product Safety Standard — Corded Internal Window Coverings) Regulations 2010 and the Competition and Consumer (Corded Internal Window Coverings) Safety Standard 2014.
The service includes a comprehensive assessment of all internally installed window coverings, both corded and non-corded, to identify any non-compliant installations. Where required, rectification measures will be undertaken to ensure safety, including making coverings safe or removing hazardous window treatments to meet the required standards.
Additional services provided during this inspection include the installation of safety devices such as tensioning systems or cleats, cord management and shortening to keep cords out of reach, and the replacement of non-compliant components. Minor repairs and adjustments to window coverings may also be performed where necessary.
A compliance report can be provided upon request for an additional fee, including photographic documentation of before and after rectifications for record-keeping.
Customers will also receive safety guidance to help maintain compliance in the future. If required, a broader child safety check can be conducted to identify additional hazards related to window coverings or other fixtures.
